Bernadette Peters won a well-deserved 1999 Tony award for her role as Annie Oakley in this Irving Berlin classic. Her role was taken over by the lovely Cheryl Ladd, who fills Peters' big shoes capably. Patrick Cassidy co-stars as Frank Butler, Annie’s lover who is left behind in her meteoric rise to fame.
