1987's Tony, Best Musical

This Broadway institution is a "must see"; it has a fabulous plot, memorable songs and an impressive set. Based on the book by Victor Hugo, Les Mis follows the lives of Jaen Valijean and Cosette during the French revolution. This stirring musical won the 1987 Tony award for Best Musical and is now in its thirteenth year on Broadway. Les Miserables has stood the test of time and become a staple on the Broadway stage. Romantic and spellbinding at once, it’s a magical and heartbreaking story of love and loss.  It runs out of the Imperial Theatre, former site of Fiddler on the Roof’s long and prosperous run.
