“Major Barbara” is a satirical play about wealth and poverty. The story focuses on Barbara Undershaft and her conflicts with her father, Andrew. Barbara is a simple woman who is an idealistic major in the Salvation Army. As such, her personality, ideals, social stature, and much more conflict with that of her father, a wealthy munitions manufacturer.
