The Lion King
New Amsterdam Theater
214 W. 42nd St.
New York, NY 10036
Since its inception in 1997, parents and children alike have enjoyed the production of “The Lion King,” based on the renowned Disney animated film. Forty-six cast members use puppetry, elaborate costumes and dramatic music to re-create the moving story of Simba, a young lion who faces adversity in his quest to become king of the jungle. Believe it or not, the musical is just as intriguing as the animated film, if not more because of its quality of being live, yet grander than life.
