Obtaining Broadway Tickets

Tickets for Broadway can be obtained numerous ways. The easiest way for out of towners to reserve tickets is still via telephone. You'll get charged a service fee per ticket, but it's probably worth it. There really is no better way to get tickets for a specific performance way in advance.  Here are a couple of numbers to call:

Tele-Charge
(212) 239-6200 or (800) 432-7250

Ticket Central
(212) 279-4200

TicketMaster
(212) 307-4100 or (800) 755-4000

Ok, now that the big spenders are gone, here's the real skinny on getting cheap tickets. If you're not really decided upon which show you'd like to see, or if you simply don't care, there is no better way to get cheap tickets than by going to buy them in person from  the TKTS booths in  Times Square.

These booths sell same-day performance tickets at a discount of 25-75% off. The basic way this works is that the TKTS booth will list all the tickets they have available for that day. You can select from most Broadway and off-Broadway productions, and you might be surprised to see what's available. There is a fee of $2.50 per ticket, but you'll be glad to pay it. Only cash and travelers checks are accepted.
